Fashion Design & Product Developer
The Fashion Design & Product Developer will
support the Head of Design in all phases of the design development
process, lending both creative and practical support. You are the
right-hand wo/man to the Head of Design and will work with internal and
external partners to bring the Verge range to life from product
conception to market within required deadlines.
Some of the key areas you will be involved in;
Range Design & Development
- Trend
Forecasting & Research (seasonally), including setting up
inspiration boards for Design Team and maintaining these throughout the
season with fresh ideas
- Market Research NZ/AU markets and internationally to ensure market awareness
- Research & develop design concepts for relevant categories/seasonal ranges collaborating with HOD
Selling – Preparation, Post & During
- Assist
with any SMS sample range prep in collaboration with the Design Team to
ensure the range is ready for reviews/ photographing/selling
- Assist Marketing & Sales Teams with photoshoots as/when required
- Assist in selling meetings and product workshops, when required, to obtain feedback from customers
- Actively
contribute in post-season analysis meetings with CD and Brand/Sales
Manager for future planning and keep accurate notes to reference

Skills and experience
- Passionate
about Fashion Design with experience in Womenswear clothing in NZ with a
minimum of 5 years experince in the industry.
- Background in
product development & garment manufacturering off-shore, with the
capability to create full tech packs and fit garments.
- Proven experience of product development through to production level.
- Proven CAD experience - Coral and Adobe Illustrator, InDesign and Photoshop.
- Proven understanding of fabric and fully fashioned knitwear (qualities and performance)
- An ability to multitask and perform under tight deadlines
